we had gone out for dinner at a western food chain. the food was subpar, but that was it. after dinner, my stomach began to hurt, but i thought nothing of it. when we got back home, my stomach started to hurt even more. hours passed, and it hurt so much i was curled up into a ball out of sheer pain. i couldn't walk properly. we went to a clinic downstairs, but the doctor said it was probably period cramps due to my age. as a result, we went back home and i tried to sleep, but i kept waking up as i needed to vomit. my parents tried to quell my stomach with hot milo. they asked how i was feeling, and if i needed to go to the hospital. i said i did, because i wanted to secure a few days off school. it did not remain a lie for long, as i started to vomit green, which is a major warning sign for appendicitis. i was brought to children's emergency, and then i was admitted. i had to have an emergency surgery at 8pm as my appendix had ruptured. the doctor commented that we were lucky to have come on time, as if it were any later, it would be too late for me. thus, i accidentally saved my own life out of wanting to go to the hospital to get a medical certificate.
