A Online friendship group for a video game, age 18

At this point of time in my life, I was a relatively active member for a gaming group revolving around a game called Mount and Blade. this group consisted of members, and staff (people who organised events / who volunteered time to coordinate the groups activities.) I'm a relatively technical person and found myself hosting most of this groups online infrastructure (VOIP, Game servers, Website, etc.) I didn't really take part in organisation beyond this, and was quite content with that being my role. The two leaders of this group disagreed on alot of issues about where to take the group, and gradually grew more and more distant over 3 or so years. To cut a very long story short, both tried to get the other removed, by rallying the support of those in the group. I liked both of these people. Unwittingly and without thought for something like this happening, I found that because I "controlled" all of the groups infrastructure, both were trying to use me to substantiate themselves,  I found myself in a position where I was effectively the deciding factor between which of the two would stay. I really despise that they did that, I never wanted to make such a choice in a group that was for fun. I hate that rather then resolving the issue themselves, they pushed it to the point that it couldn't be resolved,  that my hand was twisted to into making that choice for them lest the group I loved fell apart. It really had a big impact on me because it ruined my relationship with one of them, and a few others in the group, something I never wanted to happen.
